Vatican Sees Good Press For Papal Trip

VATICAN, May 10, 01 (CWNews.com) - At the conclusion of another historical papal voyage, the Vatican newspaper has pointed to the international media coverage generated by the trip.

L'Osservatore Romano observed that the trip by Pope John Paul II to Greece, Syria, and Malta had been covered prominently by virtually all of the world's major news outlets. That coverage was also quite favorably, the Vatican paper observed. The Pope was widely praised for his efforts on behalf of ecumenism in Greece, and peace in the Middle East.
