WARSAW, Poland, APRIL 19, 2002 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II's visit to Poland is expected to take place Aug. 16-19.
The Vatican has yet to confirm the schedule, but details of the program are already circulating in Warsaw.
The pastoral trip is to center on the Pope's beloved Krakow, with visits to favorite Catholic spiritual places in the region. The ANSA agency said a trip by John Paul II to the Tatra mountains in Zakopane has been ruled out for now.
But Krystof Janik, the Minister of the Interior, said that surprises cannot be ruled out. "We will only know the real program of the Pope's visit after the Pope's visit," he said.
