Chinese Leaders Point to «Danger» of Cult
BEIJING, Jul 18, 01 (CWNews.com) - The Chinese government has opened an exhibition in the Beijing Military Museum, designed to show the dangers of religious cults. The exhibit is clearly aimed to discredit the Falun Gong movement.
The exhibit, which includes shocking photos of mangled human bodies and suicide victims, is intended to impress upon viewers the dangers of religious fanaticism. It opened in Beijing on the second anniversary of a government order banning Falun Gong.
Li Lanqing, the second-ranking official of the Communist government, was among the first visitors to the exhibit. He said that the gruesome displays provided an important reminder of the "dangers" caused by the cult. "We have won a great victory in struggling against Falun Gong, but this cult will not be reconciled to its defeat," he said.
