VATICAN CITY, JULY 3, 2002 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II will travel to Poland from Aug. 16-19, after his pastoral visit to Toronto for World Youth Day (July 23-29), and to Guatemala and Mexico (July 29 to Aug. 2).
The Pontiff will first land in Krakow, where he was once archbishop, and then go to Lagiewniki, where he will consecrate the Shrine of Divine Providence, the Vatican announced Tuesday.
In addition, he will visit Kalwaria Zebrzydwoska, a spiritual center of pilgrimages about 35 kilometers (21 miles) from Krakow.
The Vatican said it will soon publish a detailed program of the Pope's ninth visit to his native land.
